Yes, it's true!  What started out as a gift to my Wife turned in to a Powerful Marketing Tool.

Welcome!  My name is Tim Jensen.  I was married to Carrie on December 31st, 2008.  You can read about the details here. 

Carrie and I had just spent the morning and afternoon of July 4th, 2008 with my parents.  My parents had just left, and we sat down to relax for a little while before we headed out to the local fireworks display here in LaCrosse, WI.  Then I had a thought...

"Why don't I start a blog for our soon-to-be new family?"

So I went and registered a domain...http://www.timandcarrie.com.  I looked for carrieandtim.com, but that was already taken.

Then I set up a Wordpress blog on the site, because I figured it would be easier to manage the content of the site.

A couple of weeks later, when I showed Carrie the site, she LOVED it.  Then, true to form, she started coming up with ideas about what to put there.  We put the wedding date, where the service would be held, where the reception would be held, and the hotel information for out-of-town guests.

But every time I made a new post, Carrie asked me to move the wedding info back up to the top!  She said that people wouldn't read the whole thing just to get the wedding info, and that was why most people would go to the site!

So I got to thinking, "I'll just have someone write a Wordpress plugin that will accomplish this".  Every time a new post was created, the wedding information would "Float To The Top" post.  Including the wedding information as part of the top post would look the most natural.

As time went by, my marketing experience got me to think about OTHER uses for something like this.  For example:
